Facilities

Part of the experience at Heather Lodge is enjoying the property facilities, which are included in the package price.

With over 270 feet of pristine waterfront on Twelve Mile Lake on a property with no more than 24 guests at a time, the experience is both intimate and relaxing.  After decending the beautiful pine stairs from the upper main lodge, you will find a spacious dock equipped with chairs, loungers, and a picnic table where there is plenty of room to find both shade or sun.   A safe rock and sandy beach offers a gradual slope to the swimming area, with a ladder on the first boat slip if you prefer to “dive right in” to the fresh waters.  Waterfront activities include canoes, kayaks, SUP baords and a paddle boat with all the safety equipment for your use.  Don’t be surprised to discover a loon or blue heron, as they are frequent visitors as well.

In winter, get outdoors!  The lodge offers experiences to our guests with snowshoe and cross country ski equipment included in your package, local trail pass fees will also apply.  The property is covered with a winter wonderland just waiting for you to make your mark….along with other prints on land and on the 3 feet of ice on the lake…a spectacular experience.

We highly suggest being “unplugged” for your stay, but understand the need for our guests for WIFI, so we offer this throughout the property. This includes the rooms, the lounge, and even the waterfront. This is included in your package.  We do ask, however, refraining from use in our dining room (pictures are ok) so as to not disturb the other guests.  The lounge offers a great venue for catching up on emails etc.

For an extra charge, we also offer fishing boat rentals of our 15 ft aluminum boat with a 9.9hp motor.  Twelve Mile Lake is known for the fishing. As there is a three lake chain up to Boshkung Lake, you can spend the day travelling to the best destination points to pull out a Small Mouth Bass or Pickerel.  Security deposit and both a valid fishing license and boaters license required in advance.
