Adult Only Resort ~ Escape into the Haliburton Highlands to explore nature, adventure, tastes, and culture at Heather Lodge.

Heather Lodge is a quaint four season resort which offers romantic getaways for couples wishing to enjoy the natural beauty of the area, and getting away from the daily grind.  Slow it all down with some lakeside solitude on our 300 feet of spectacular waterfront on Twelve Mile Lake, part of a three lake chain.  Waterfront activities include canoes, kayaks, stand up paddle boards, and a paddle boat as well as a safe swimming area.

Perfect for couples to unplug and reconnect, we set the mood with our rooms, romantic dining, spectacular sites, and onsite massages. We bring the finishing touches with arrangements of fresh flowers and champagne in the room on arrival, just ask and we will see how we can meet your needs and expections!

Another pride of the lodge is our exquisite cuisine. Chef James has over 25 years of experience as an Executive Chef and will awaken your senses with each meal created to order.  Think fresh and think local with a menu that changes daily depending on “Chef’s” creativity and available local products.  It's a true culinary experience!  Offering only the unique and best to our guests, we have a hand-selected Ontario Wines menu, standard bar rail, and domestic beers.  Should you choose to bring your own wine, we offer this and in-room service as well.  Our diningroom offers a fantastic lakeview setting, with personable staff that cater to your every need.

Witness scenic beauty of the area with over 600 lakes, 200 + km of hiking trails, 650km of snowmobile trails and over 1600 kms of atv trails in the area, shared with many wildlife species.   Haliburton Highlands offers an abundance of things to see and do in the area, from hiking, fishing, cycling, golfing, theatre, live entertainment, photo ops, galleries, museums and much more.  In winter we enjoy a ‘winter wonderland’ of snowshoeing, dogsledding, snowmobiling, cross-country and alpine skiing, followed by warm in-room fires. Fall is the best time of year to enjoy the outdoors due to the abundance of maple trees.  They offer a spectacular array of colour with panoramic view points such as the Dorset Tower.  This is also one of the perfect times for travelling in the area on a motorcycle, as the topography offers twists and curves.  For information about the 5 loops in the area highlighting things to see and do, ask for a Motorcycle Map of the area.

Other significant attractions include the Algonquin Provincial Park, Haliburton Forest & Wildlife Reserve (offering dogsledding, Walk in the Clouds, Wolf Centre, Snowmobiling, and more), Haliburton Sculpture Forest, Haliburton Highlands Water Trails, Fleming School of the Arts, and the Minden White Water Preserve.  Not to mention there are dozens of signature events throughout the year, such as The Hike Haliburton Festival and Haliburton County Studio Tour.

Haliburton Highlands offers something for everybody! Take in all the activities, attractions, rooms, and culinary delights, knowing that the Innkeepers are attentive to your every need in this quaint lodge. We bring personable service to each and every one of our guests.
