All Heather Lodge suites are professionally decorated with quality furnishing and imaginative accessories. Each of our popular Lake View Studio Suites boasts a cozy fireplace and a private balcony over-looking Twelve Mile Lake, perfect for a romantic getaway. Our secluded Courtyard Studio Suites feature whirlpool soaker tubs and private decks and have a lovely view overlooking the resort's beautiful gardens and extensive landscaping. Our Honeymoon Suite - our very finest in accommodations - offers couples a sumptuous private retreat complete with fireplace, two-person whirlpool/soaker tub with separate shower and a generous deck, secluded by a privacy fence – with an awe-inspiring view of Twelve Mile Lake. Furnished with our guest's comfort in mind, all of our suites are extremely well equipped and include amenities such as quality king beds with fine linens, comfortable chairs with tables, satellite TV, bar fridges, coffee machines, ironing boards and hair dryers. Heather Lodge is not only the perfect location for Ontario romantic couples getaways; it is also the ideal venue for reunions, small conferences and very special events such as weddings and anniversary celebrations. The lodge's picturesque natural setting provides a spectacular backdrop to hold a beautiful wedding ceremony. Imagine taking your vows amongst the towering pines on the lakeside patio deck or at the water's edge on the large dock. The lodge's lounge provides a comfortable place for your guests to gather. Dining, of course, will be second to none. Our delightfully inviting dining room is open daily and serves delicious and inspired home cooked meals, all with a breathtaking view of picturesque Twelve Mile Lake. Each table in the dining room provides a stunning vista that is hard to look away from. Guests particularly enjoy watching the antics of the wide variety of birds that feed at the many bird-feeding stations close by. All Heather Lodge accommodations include both breakfast and dinner. We take tremendous pride in the quality of the food we serve, made from only the freshest and the finest ingredients available. Our efforts have been rewarded with numerous compliments from guests praising our food. Every morning, guests are invited to partake in a generous full country-style breakfast that is sure to satisfy the hungriest of appetites. Each evening, Heather Lodges' four-course dinner menu offers a temping variety of delicious choices for lodge guests. Dinner includes a choice of homemade soup or juice, salad or appetizer, a selection from several hearty, mouth-watering entrées, such as grilled steak and shrimp, pork schnitzel or braised lamb shanks. Decadently luscious desserts, such as panna cotta topped with fresh local berries, are served with piping hot coffee or tea. During the warm summer months, guests are invited to enjoy their coffee and dessert on the adjacent lakeside patio. Throughout the day, our large lakeside patio is the perfect place to enjoy the sun and perhaps a snack from our mouth-watering menu. Our dining room is open to the public. Diners, who are not staying at the lodge, are most welcome but are requested to make reservations in advance. There is always something to doWhether you desire a quiet, low-key retreat or an exciting, action-packed adventure, there is something for everyone at Heather Lodge. At Heather Lodge, you can be as busy or as rested and relaxed as you wish. Settle down by the lake on our huge lakeside deck with a fishing rod and enjoy the peace and quiet this Haliburton resort is famous for or, jump on a bicycle and take an invigorating 10k ride to the famous Wild Water Kayaking Preserve. Partake in Heather Lodges' many onsite amenities such as our sauna and hot tub, which are available year round. In the Lodge, enjoy a friendly game of pool with fellow guests or settle down on one of the many comfy lounge chairs and enjoy a book by the old stone fireplace. Guests, who wish to be totally indulged during their stay, may reserve from a selection of rejuvenating spa services. Boat rentals are readily available from the marina directly adjacent to the Lodge, where a wide variety of boats are offered for rent. The friendly staff at Heather Lodge are extremely knowledgeable about what is going on in the area and are happy to help you with any arrangements.Beautiful surroundings all year longHeather Lodge is located two hours northeast of Toronto in the Haliburton Highlands. The landscape of the area is distinct due to its tremendous natural beauty. Enjoy the diversity of the area including its rolling hillsides, spectacular rock faces and hundreds of fresh water lakes. The Highlands are a sportsman's Mecca, offering a wide variety of activities. In the summer you can explore the area on any number of hiking or cycling trails or fish for a variety of species from pike to brook trout. If golf is more your style, then please enjoy one of the five nearby golf courses. The Haliburton area boasts the largest network of signed ATV trails in the province. Twelve Mile Lake is one of the Haliburton Highland's premiere lakes. Part of a two-lake change, Twelve Mile Lake offers boaters miles of open water to explore. Guests with there own boats are invited to bring them to Heather Lodge. There is plenty of space on our safe and extensive dock. Autumn brings a spectacular display of colour to the Haliburton Highlands and there is no better place to enjoy it than at Heather Lodge.There is always something of interest going on in the HighlandsThe Haliburton Highlands offers visitors many area attractions including the Haliburton Forest & Wildlife Reserve. The Haliburton Forest is famous for its “Walk in the Clouds” forest canopy tour and the “Wolf Centre”. It is also the location of the internationally acclaimed “Forest Festival”, an outdoor musical theatrical extravaganza like no other. The world famous Algonquin Provincial Park is only one hour away via scenic Highway 35. Haliburton is home to numerous resident art studios, antique and gift shops. Artist from all across Canada and the United States flock to Haliburton each year to attend the famous Haliburton School of the Arts, which offers over a hundred different weeklong courses throughout the summer and at other times during the year. An intriguing selection of musical offerings and live theatre productions are regularly performed at the Northern Lights Theatre in Haliburton Village. Exciting annual events such as “Timber Fest”, ”The Haliburton Highland Games”, “The Haliburton Dogsled Races” and “Rock the Wake” draw spectators and participants from far and wide. Haliburton County boasts one of the most complete trail systems for hiking, cross country skiing, biking, atving and snowmobiling in Ontario.
